Velvet Sound Society flip contemporary Pop & RnB songs on their head and turn them into stripped down acoustic/Jazz sounds - nothing fancy, just good music….

Clean White Love - Lisa Mitchell
This is the cutest video. You know how new love makes everything feel good & you have the whole ‘glass is half full’ outlook on everything?…. this song/video reminds me of that, the carefree innocence of experiencing something new for the first time and not worrying about anything else but being in that moment. Beautiful!

Text
A few months ago a friend of my brothers Dad passed away and although it was sad he had spent the last three months of his life battling stomach cancer and during that time he made peace with the world and said his goodbyes to those he loved. At his funeral his three sons spoke along with many of his friends and colleagues about a man who lived life to the fullest. He loved his wife and three sons and managed to run a successful business that employed over 100 staff. Everyone that got up to speak spoke of his integrity and the loyalty he showed not only in his business but with his friends and family. His eldest son Cam spoke about how grateful he was that his dad showed him that after 30 years of marriage you can still be madly in love with someone.
It touched me so deeply and really brought home the fact that no matter how busy our lives can get and how successful we become its what we take with us and leave behind that counts. Not the material wealth but the love we give and receive.
We never know when our time is up but we can choose to live everyday with purpose and meaning. To honour ones self by living consciously and graciously is a powerful thing. Being conscious of how our actions affect those around us and being gracious enough to accept we are all imperfect and only human. At the end of the day we can only be responsible for how we choose to live our lives but in doing so we also have the ability to make an impact on other peoples lives sometimes without even realising it.
Just by living, living with honesty and integrity and compassion you may have touched the life of someone else in a lasting way. This is the legacy we leave behind and this is the gift that my friends Dad left behind for his friends, family and even strangers who had followed his journey for the last few months of his life on his blog http://mikesbigadventure.wordpress.com/ (I encourage you to take a little time to read Mikes blog)
He put everything into perspective for me. Life is so precious and we can never take a single moment for granted.
My wish for you is that reading Mikes blog will give you something meaningful, something worth remembering when our lives get too busy that we lose sight of what truly matters the most.
